Strong Points of the COMET 1600 design
The high speed printing, around 180 sqm/hr @240 dpi, requires important rolls of paper. In order to provide a continuous daily production, the roll loading has been fully automated which allows the operator to save a lot of time.
Most of the high speed wide format printers are operating in a "Roll to Roll" configuration.
Therefore the user has to compose with a further manipulation in order to cut the posters to size.
In order to avoid this, the Comet 1600 has real time fully automated cutting system Lxl which delivers finished posters ready to ship.
The role of Eden Graphics is to finalize the development of the Comet, and launch the industrialization of the COMET "+" version:
- Higher resolution upto 400 dpi,
- Better reliability (reduction of the MTBF by an optimized management of printhead the ink supply) ;
- More Colours (better management of print pattern with the EG-Trames module).
In a second phase the addition of the IPE-S2400 will allow the COMET+ to generate continuous prints of hundreds of bus-stop format posters (1.2m x 1.76m) per 8 hours shift. It should correspond to an average of 750 posters/day.
